
Mary J Blige and Method Man perform at the VH1 Honors
Some of the biggest names in entertainment came out to celebrate the 6th annual VH1 Hip Hop Honors awards to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Def Jam Records, one of the most celebrated hip hop labels in the music industry. The show paid tribute to the architects of Def Jam Records including Russell Simmons, Rick Rubin, Lyor Cohen, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, Kevin Liles, Bill Stephney, Chris Lighty, and Michael Kyser. The event took place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) at the Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn, New York.
Performances and presenters included: Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Chris Rock, Jimmy Fallon, Kid Rock, Ludacris, Ashanti, Public Enemy, Rick Ross, Fabolous, DMX, Redman, The Roots, Chrisette Michele, Method Man, KRS-One, ONYX, Warren G, Brett Ratner, Trey Songz, Ja Rule, Gym Class Heroes, Scarface, Trey Songz, and Wale.
The 6th annual VH1 Hip Hop Honors premieres October 13 at 9 PM ET/PT.
